Thanksgiving 2010
We have so much to be thankful for every year and this year is no different. God has blessed our family so much and we are so thankful for all the ways He continues to bless us. This year God gave us a second beautiful daughter. He blessed Jared in his job at HHS and he continues to give us all good health. I think I am most thankful this year for the joy God has placed in my heart. I know this kind of joy has to come from my heavenly Father, what a blessing. My three greatest joys are these special people-

8 Months Old
It's me again, Adelyn.
My biggest milestone this month has to be my two newest additions- teeth! I now have my bottom front 2 teeth and they are adorable. I think the whole world is my personal teething toy! If you don't want something in my mouth, then you had better move it to a place where I can't find it!
My favorite toy is a spoon. After each meal I sit and play with the spoon while everyone else finishes eating.
I am still doing the wiggle army crawl, but I move around enough that Mommy has been closing the gate at the top of the stairs so that I don't fall down them.
I was sick for the first time this month. I was running a fever and was pretty fussy for a good week and a half, but I feel better now. I am still eating like a champ. The only new food I have tried this month is peaches and peas.
Mommy and Daddy let me try puffs for the first time over the weekend. I only had 2, but I loved them! Katelyn is still a fun playmate. She makes me laugh and takes such good care of me.
My favorite person right now is Mommy. If I can see her and she is not holding me- I want her! Mommy knew this phase would come, and now she is hoping it passes quickly.

SaSa came for a visit this month, we had lots of fun between my fever, fussy times.
I am still sleeping like a log. I go to bed around 7 or 7:30 and get up around 7 or 7:30. The time change threw me off for a few days, but I've now adjusted and am doing great!
I have started sucking my thumb whenever I am sleepy and when I don't feel good. I'm sure this is going to be a fun habit to break :(

I also sat in the shopping buggy for the first time this month. I loved sitting upright and watching all the people. Katelyn was so excited that I was sitting in the buggy that she asked to sit next to me!

I think that's about all for now, talk to you in another month- Adelyn

Visit from Aunt SaSa
We were lucky enough to have SaSa, Jared's sister Sarah, come visit us last week! Katelyn was so excited to have SaSa here. Unfortunately Adelyn was sick with a fever and was really cranky, but she still enjoyed having SaSa here to help keep her spirits up!
One of the highlights of Katelyn's week with SaSa was making pumpkin cookies! They slaved in the kitchen together-
The cookies were yummy, too bad I didn't get a picture of the finished product.
Jared's cousin Whitney and her husband Dwight also came to town for an evening. They are a sweet couple and we all had fun visiting with them.

Dwight was even sporting Katelyn's apron-
The next day we headed to the little pumpkin patch to grab a few pumpkins to carve or decorate. Poor Adelyn wasn't feeling well, but she still dressed up as a ladybug-
Here is Jared and princess Katelyn searching for the perfect pumpkin.
I think you can tell by the look on Adelyn's face that she wasn't feeling well.
Next we headed back home for some pumpkin carving and decorating. Adelyn really enjoyed the texture of the pumpkin as she happily played with this one for quite some time.
Meanwhile, Jared and Katelyn were working on carving the big pumpkin. Notice Jared's tongue- you can always tell when Jared is concentrating on something because he sticks his tongue out like this.
Everyone look out, Jared has a knife!
After a little pumpkin carving, it was time to go trick-or-treating. I guess they didn't want to stop for a picture with Daddy...
Now a little happier before we head out the door-

Katelyn was our independent princess who would march up to any door, knock and say "trick-or-treat".
That is until we came to the house with Fred-the-pumpkin-head. She was scared of him last year and this year was no different. We did get her up to the door, but she was eye-ballin' Fred the whole time!

Here we are, all done trick-or-treating-

The next day we loaded up and headed to Dallas where Jared, Sarah and I went to see the Rangers play in the World Series!
We were lucky enough to have Byron and Megan watch Katelyn and Adelyn for us!

The world series game was so much fun to experience.

Unfortunately the Rangers lost that game which ended the series and made the Giants the World Series champs, but it was still an experience of a lifetime!

The next day we got up and hung out at Byron and Megan's house a little while before driving to the mall to visit Jared and Sarah's grandmother, Memakie.
After lunch we had to say goodbye to Sarah, but luckily we get to see her in Washington for a week over Christmas! What a fun week we all had and we love SaSa so much.

Sleepy Girl
After feeding and playing with Adelyn in the morning I give her about 15 mintues of 'room-time' where she can crawl around and play with a few toys by herself while I do a few things. She always enjoys this quiet time in her room before Katelyn gets up and will happily play for as long as I let her. One morning last week during her room-time I noticed I hadn't heard her 'talking' in a few minutes so I went to check on her. I found her like this:

Sweet girl must have been really sleepy to pass out on the floor like that! I left her there and she slept for almost an hour!
