Well, only 2 1/2 more weeks until my due date! According to the doctor we can expect Sister any day now- I can't believe it! Katelyn will be such a good big sister, she already loves Sister, tries to change her diaper by putting a diaper on my tummy, tickles Sister, and gives her lots of hugs and kisses!

Valentine's Day fun
Katelyn got the full Valentine's day experience this February 14th! We had bubbles, blocks, dresses, chocolate, movies, pj's and so much fun!!!! Above is a picture of Katelyn in her adorable new Valentines dress from Bubba and JoJo. Now I can't wait for sister to join us because they got her a coordinating dress- I think I might have a problem wanting to dress them alike all the time!!! Katelyn and Mommy made chocolate covered strawberries which I must say, KG was a pretty good helper making- until the end. Here we are starting off-
Then here is Katelyn at the end!
After making strawberries and getting cleaned up Katelyn and Daddy played with blocks and her new bubble gun (her v-day gifts from Jared and I)-
Does is look like Katelyn is enjoying the blocks and bubble gun more than Jared?!?
We finished off the night watching her new Veggie Tales DVD from Nanny and PawPaw and then getting ready for bed in her new pajamas also from Nanny and PawPaw.

Emotions running high!
Well, yesterday my emotions were kicked into over-drive a bit! I took Katelyn for her first hair-cut (other than the little trim I gave her last Easter). I didn't exactly have a finished product of what Katelyn's hair should look like in mind, but as the lady chopped away I sat in the chair, trying to hold back the tears. She cut WAY more than I was wanting, gave KG a nice set of bangs (YUCK) and I left devastated! As soon as I got into the car I called my sister and bawled. Bless her heart, Gera Beth later told me that I scared her calling like that, she thought I was going into labor or something. Anyway, I cried on the way home, put KG down for her nap and cried some more. I then woke Katelyn up from her nap early so that I could wash her hair and fix it to see how I felt about the cut. After all is said and done, the cut isn't that bad (although I could still cry thinking about the bangs)- I just have to keep a clippy in her hair to kinda pull the bangs to one side... So here is a picture of Katelyn taken last week with her old due-

and here is a picture taken this morning of Katelyn with the new due-

I know it's not something to cry over, but I guess these pregnancy hormones are really getting to me (can I blame the hormones???). With all this said, I am so thankful for a healthy/happy daughter, for hair that grows back and for understanding friends and family who will let me be emotional even when it's unreasonable!

Weekend pics
Last Saturday Jared and a few other families from our Sunday School class went up to the Austin Pregnancy Resource Center (APRC)to rake some leaves. I stayed at a friends house along with another momma to watch the kiddos, I probably wouldn't be much help! So, Tracy and I stayed back with Katelyn, Fielding and Tanner. Katelyn loves to play with Fielding and I think he enjoys her company too, altough he is a little young to voice that!

When Jared got back to the house he gave Katelyn his beanie hat and she wore it proudly while we ate lunch-

Then our little friend, Tanner, decided to follow suit and wear his daddy's hat- isn't he just the most precious thing!

Afternoon Of Sewing
During Katelyn's nap this afternoon I decided I'd get to some sewing that I've been wanting to do but have honestly just been to lazy to get around too. My original plan was to make Katelyn her big girl bag, but after reading over the pattern, I decided that would have to wait for another day- but here is a shot of the pattern, fabric and cord-

Since I wasn't going to make the bag I thought the next best thing would be Katelyn's valentines/spring dress. I just kinda made up my own thing as I went and here is the final result:

I can't wait for Katelyn to wake up so she can try it on! I then decided I can't leave sister out, so I appliqued a flower on a onesie for her-

Lastly I decided I'd make Katelyn and sister big sis/lil sis shirts. I got the letters cut, but they aren't sewn on yet... maybe that will happen tonight?!?

We're finally Potty Trained (sort-of)
Yes, I'm referring to Katelyn. She is FINALLY potty-trained (when we're at home anyway!). I bought her the potty what seems like forever ago because I thought she was ready to start potty training, well, she wasn't. So, I held off a while, then we tried again, yet again, another failure. I knew Katelyn knew when she needed to go potty, she was just being stubborn and refused to tell me (can we blame her stubbornness on Jared???). She also could care less if she had a dirty or wet diaper which made potty training more difficult.
Well, finally last week I saw some Minnie Mouse underwear at the store and decided I'd give it one more try before sister's arrival. You have to understand, Katelyn is really into Mickey mouse shows, so I thought that just might do the trick. Voila, it worked! I told her she'd better not go potty on Minnie and she responded with, "Yea, I better not potty on Minnie because she'll cry." Since then she has only had one accident and it was when she couldn't get her pants down fast enough, which is understandable because she's not yet a pro at unzipping jeans!
In the title I said 'sort-of' potty trained- I say that because we are still putting on diapers/pull-ups on long outings, like to church. We've gone to run general errands and she'll ask to go potty at the store which is good. I'm following Stormi's (my sister-in-law) advice and am working on making Katelyn a 'big girl bag' so we can put her 'diaper bag' away and we can put her needed items in that bag to take to church. Hopefully it will make her feel more grown-up and we can say bye-bye to daytime diapers!!!
Amy McAdams told me to give some pointers on potty training so here they are:
1. Don't listen to me, it took me way longer than expected.
2. Don't have set expectations because of what someone else's child did- each kid is different!
3. Go with the flow, I got frustrated and should have just relaxed because I think Katelyn picked up on my frustration.
4. Do what works for you!
5. Pray, of course this is just a general rule of thumb, but sometimes I forget to pray for things like this because I (I'm speaking as a mom) feel it is my 'duty' to teach KG things, like potty training. In actuality, God wants to lead us in every aspect of our lives, and that includes potty training!!!!
