Lake Texoma

Last weekend we went with the Geeslin group to beautiful Lake Texoma for a Father's Day/birthday weekend. I didn't get many pictures, but we sure made lots of fun memories! We left Friday and I wasn't sure what to expect for the drive because this was the longest road trip we've taken since Adelyn was born. I must say, she was a trouper! She slept some, was awake some, and was just pretty laid-back! Katelyn did great too. She sang songs, talked to us, read some books, played with Adelyn and watched Mickey Mouse. Here is a picture of the girls riding in the back, you can see Adelyn in the mirror. Oh and you can also see Katelyn's boo boo, it's almost gone now! Here is a video of Katelyn singing on the trip.

Once we arrived at the hotel we hung out with Auntie, Jason, and Joshua while we waited for the rest of the crew to arrive. Bubba and JoJo got there soon and then we went to a Cajun place down the road for dinner. Byron and Megan met us at the restaurant. The next day the boys went fishing while the girls hung back with the kids. I never thought spending so much time in a hotel room could be so much fun, but I had a blast hanging out with my family! At one point Katelyn got her foot stepped on, So Bubba bandaged her up... Joshua felt sorry for Katelyn, so he gave lots of kisses to help heal her toe :) I was pretty nervous about all four of us being in a hotel room. I was expecting little sleep, but I really need to give my girls more credit. Katelyn slept in one bed and Adelyn in the pack-n-play. In the mornings Katelyn would come crawl in bed with us, which is a special treat for her and Adelyn slept really well. One of Katelyn's most favorite things for the weekend was the phone... Adelyn was so sweet, as always! We had such a great weekend with family. The Lord has blessed us beyond measure with such wonderful people!

Let's Boogie!

The weekend before last we went to Lake Brownwood state park with some of our very best friends, Ben and Ashlee Johnson to celebrate Ben's graduation.  Jared took 1/2 a day off so we could get to the park and help my dad set up the RV (thanks to my wonderful parents for letting us use their RV!).  Not only did they let us use the RV, they also kept Katelyn at their place.  Katelyn had a blast riding the tricycle, riding the ranger and playing with Bubba and JoJo.
With Katleyn at Bubba and JoJo's house, Adelyn got lots of lovin' and attention.  Since Jared took 1/2 off, we got to the campsite early and got t spend some time in the heat playing with doodle bug while Ben and Ashlee made their way to Brownwood.  Her is Adelyn with Daddy and Mommy.
Then the party started when the Johnson's showed up.  Look at 'Auntie Ash', what a beauty!

Then there is 'Uncle Ben'... entertaining Adelyn :)
Saturday morning we got up, had a big breakfast and then went down the trail to see what the state park had to offer.  We came up on a fox that wasn't too happy to see us.  Jared and Ben then talked for a while about how they would have loved to kill the fox with their walking sticks...
Here is the view from the top of the hill.  It isn't Hawaii or anything, but it had it's own special charm.
The trail led us to the water.  Again, not exactly Hawaii!
At some point during our weekend-o-fun we decided to take boogie pictures next to the let's boogie sign.  It can't be a true vacation if you don't take silly pictures, right?!?!
We are so blessed to have such great friends.  We only wished the Johnson's lived closer so we could see them more often!

She's already 3 months old!!!

Adelyn turned 3 months old on Sunday!  I can't believe she is already 3 months, time has truly flown by!  She is such a happy, laid-back baby.  She is such a good sleeper.  All I have to do is swaddle her nice and tight, roll her to her tummy, give her the pacifier then off to dream land she goes!  She smiles at us all the time, it just melts my heart!
Adelyn has started to hold on to toys.  We have to put them in her hand, but once she has a grasp on a toy she'll hold on tight.  She tries to put the toys in her mouth but she doesn't have very good aim yet!
Happy 3 month birthday my precious doodle bug!

An Apple A Day....

Yesterday during Katelyn's afternoon snack time I decided to have a photo shoot.  Love those dark brown eyes!
Now I know the old saying goes, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away"- however, I don't think that's the case for this little love bug.  She woke up this morning with a huge, puffy eyelid.  I'm now praying the swelling goes down on it's own so we don't have to go to the doctor, but I guess only time will tell...

Trip to ride the Train

Since Katelyn is loving trains right now we decided we'd go ride the train in Cedar Park over Memorial Day weekend. At first Katelyn was a little scared and timid (I'm sure it didn't help that she had an ear infection that we didn't know about yet), but once the train starting moving, she loved it. Adelyn was an angel and slept the whole time.
