March 25, 2012 at about 7:45pm- that is the day that Katelyn Grace asked Jesus to come into her heart.  It was bedtime and Jared told her a Bible story as we normally do.  Only this night was different.  After Jared shared the story of Mary and Joseph having baby Jesus who came to save us from our sins, Katelyn's eyes teared up as she asked, "Is Jesus is my heart?"  We told her He could be that all she had to do was ask.  We talked a little more and then as we thought the conversation was over she asked again, with tears in her eyes, "Is He in my heart?"  I said He can be, would you like to ask Him?  She said yes, so I led her in a short prayer where she asked Jesus to come into her heart and take her sins away.  

Katelyn, that is the one single most important decision you will ever make in your life.  We have prayed since we found out we were pregnant with you that you would come to know Jesus at an early age, and I'd say 4 1/2 is early!  God is so good to answer our prayer!  Now that you have made that decision to ask Jesus in your heart it begins- a lifelong journey to become more like Jesus who loved you so much that He came to Earth to save you from your sins, to die on the Cross so that you can have a personal relationship with Him from now until forever!

"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and delivered Himself up for me." (Galatians 2:20) 

Praise the Lord!  Amen!

Colson meets Kress

This weekend Ben and Ashlee came to Austin for a fun weekend.  Kress, who is 9 days older than Colson, made his first road trip and we are so excited it was to Austin!

This is how the weekend went- "Hey man, I'm Colson.  Nice to meet you!"

"Oh Hi, I'm Kress.  I've heard a lot about you.  You want to be roomies one day in college?"

... okay, no more conversing.  But yes, we did dress them alike and have a photo shoot ;)

I think Colson was ready to be done!

But not yet- we had a wardrobe change.

It was such a blessing for these little guys to meet.  Kress- you are one prayed for little boy and we are beyond excited for the Johnson family!  And no, I didn't get pictures of Ben or Ashlee.  The camera was always focused on the babies... 

Texas Bluebonnet Pics

The Bluebonnets are out and are BEAUTIFUL!  I couldn't resist the urge to take the kids to a park and snap a few pictures.  It isn't quite as easy trying to get good pictures of 3 kids by myself, but I still think they turned out good...  

Adelyn really only cared about climbing on the rocks so it was hard to get her to look at the camera, as you can tell :)

Katelyn also wanted to play on the rocks, so she gave me a quick grin and then wanted to be on her way...

Then she got distracted by the many butterflies that also liked the bluebonnets.

Colson- 1 month old

I cannot believe my baby boy is already 1 month old!  This past month has flown by and we are so happy Colson is here.  He fits into our family perfectly and is such a sweet baby!  He has had lots of visitors over the past month.  JoJo of course came down as soon as we knew I was in labor.  She returned after Nanny left and stayed a week to help out.  I couldn't have survived the first 3 weeks without both of them!

Nanny was on the flight to Austin when Colson was born and stayed for almost 2 weeks.  

Bubba came down to meet the little guy. 

Colson is growing super fast!  The pediatrician said Colson holds the record for gaining the most weight by his 2 week checkup!  He started out at 7lbs 13 oz and by his 2 week appointment he was at 9lbs 7oz!  I know he's gained some since then as well since his newborn clothes don't fit anymore.  

Colson has received lots of love from big sister Katelyn.  She has started to baby talk to him which is really cute.  She is my big helper and always wants to be involved.  

Adelyn loves "baby brother" (she refuses to say his name), but usually just leaves him alone.  She wants to "hold it" for about 10 seconds and then she is done.  Adelyn is much more interested in what "KiKi" is doing!

Colson has already had his first experience of being dressed up by Katelyn.  She had the minnie mouse ears and couldn't resist letting him have a turn wearing them :)

Colson is much more alert and is having several good awake times each day.  He sleeps really well at night, but sometimes during the day he wants his naps to be in my arms.  At night he goes about 3 hrs between feedings, last night was his first 4 hour stretch!  During the day he eats every 2 1/2 to 3 hrs.  

Byron and Meggie came down for Adelyn's birthday party and to meet Colson, I didn't get a picture of them holding him though...

Colson had his first trip to the park for a picnic lunch with his sisters and Mommy.  He stayed awake the whole time and watched everything that was going on around him! 

The suburban's backseat is full with a 3rd car seat!  Katelyn is really good about telling me if Colson is awake or asleep.  She will also find his pacifier and put it in him mouth if he gets fussy- I'm telling you, she is a great helper!

Happy Birthday Adelyn!

Two years ago we received one of the biggest blessings in our life- Adelyn Elizabeth!  

One year ago-

This year!

Adelyn is still a sweet laid-back little lady.  She loves to do anything and everything that her big sister is doing.  Dress up is one of their favorite past-times!

Adelyn has started to enjoy doing crafts, coloring, drawing, playing with stickers, etc.

Her favorite thing though is reading!  She will sucker anyone into reading to her.  She loves books and would be happy being read to all day long!  

She is now a big sister.  She likes to bring him toys but other than that she pretty much leaves Colson alone (which is good because she isn't the most gentle with him!).  

Adelyn loves Minnie Mouse and technology.  If you leave your smart phone or IPad within reach, she will find it and play games or look at pictures!  She loves food and isn't too picky, although she does usually stay away from tomato.  Some of her favorites are yogurt, crackers, beans, apples, and dried fruit.  She loves to play outside.  She loves KiKi (Katelyn) and refuses to call Colson by his name.  Instead she just calls him 'baby brother'.  She has started to really crack me up with her little sense of humor.  She is well behaved and just so sweet.  She is ready to potty train, but this momma needs a little more energy before we really get going with it.  She uses the potty a time or two each day already.  We are so blessed to have her in our family!

Life with 3 is going great!  Today is the first day of "normal" life.  Jean was here the first 2 weeks and then my mom was here last week.  Today we are flying solo and so far we are surviving!
