The past 2 weeks have been a whirlwind of vacation, plane rides, car trips, family, fun and a little sickness too. We started out going to Vancouver BC to visit Jared family and see Sarah off. A blog post about that trip is a few days away (lots of pictures to sort threw). We flew back to Texas on Wednesday and drove straight from the airport to Galveston. The girls had been sick in Canada, but they were over it. Jared on the other hand... Well, lets just say we made several stops on the side of the road because he couldn't keep his lunch down. However, even with a stomach bug, we still had a blast at the beach! Some dear sweet friends let us stay at their beach house. Here is the view from the back deck- beautiful!
Here is the front of the house. We left the storm shutters down the whole trip so the bedrooms where blacked-out!

I couldn't resist posting this picture, not because it has anything to do with the beach, but because of Adelyn's expression... Love this little lady!

Adelyn loved the beach, particularly the water. She would walk around in about knee deep water then want to be held a while, then play in the water some more. She liked the sand okay, but she'd pick the water over the sand, just like her momma!

Katelyn on the other hand, loved it all! She always wanted to start off building a sand castle (with her Daddy's help), then she'd be ready to go play in the water. Of course once we got in the water she'd notice the 'laughing' gulls. She chased many sea gulls, caught none, but had a blast doing it! Then she'd want to play in the sand more, then the water, then chase 'laughing' gulls.... I think she would have stayed on the beach all day if we would have let her!
Other than going to the beach, we tried to just take it easy and relax. Luckily Jared started to feel better and then we headed back to Austin to return to reality, life, work, and oddly, I was ready to get back into the swing of things!
