Katelyn's quote for the day
This morning Katelyn was spinning on one foot on the tile. She yells, "Mommy, Mommy, come look quick...THE HOUSE IS SPINNING, THE HOUSE IS SPINNING!!!" She has been dizzy before, but I guess this is the first time she has put it into words.

9 Months Old
Yesterday I turned 9 months old! My mommy and daddy can't believe I am already 9 months old, they say I am growing up too fast and need to slow down! This month was so busy and I changed so much. I am very mobile now and crawl everywhere! I try my hardest to keep up with Katelyn, but she is still running circles around me. I can pull myself up, but I prefer for Mommy to just stand me up. We celebrated Thanksgiving this month at Bubba and JoJo's house. It was lots of fun, but I decided that I needed to start waking at 5:30am for an early morning feeding over the holiday. Since we were in a house with lots of family who probably didn't want to hear me crying at that hour, mommy gave in and decided to not even try to break the habit until after new years since we will be with family for Christmas and have friends over for New Years. Speaking of eating, I am eating like a champ these days. I went through a brief period of not wanting baby food, but that passed quickly and I'll now eat whatever is offered. I love to feed myself puffs and cheerios and will soon be eating more solid foods I'm sure!
I love being able to roam around and play with whatever toys mommy and Katelyn get for me. This phone was a favorite for a few weeks.
While in Brownwood I loved the swing at the park. Mommy wonders why I like to swing there but not here in Austin?
I'm still sucking my thumb. It is usually only when I'm really sleepy though, which is good.
This month was the first time I spent a night away from Mommy and Daddy. I stayed with Bubba and JoJo so that Mommy and Daddy could go to Daddy's work Christmas party. Mommy said it was good for me because when she came to get me I wasn't quite as clingy to Mommy!
Here I am with my favorite friend, Katelyn and my favorite toy. I will stand at this table for 30 minutes sometimes just playing music and enjoying the fun lights and sounds.
My Mommy loves this face that I have started to make. It is my super happy, excited, loving-life face! I just started making it in the last few weeks and Mommy knows I am very excited about whatever is going on when I make this face!
I am at the point where I will put EVERYTHING in my mouth. Mommy has to watch me constantly because I will find the smallest crumb, dead bug, leaf, grass, toy, food, etc. and it goes straight to my mouth! Katelyn also does a good job of not letting me put foreign objects in my mouth, she is such a good big sister!
We were at the mall one day this week and Mommy noticed this lady kept watching Katelyn and me. I was sitting in the stroller and Katelyn was playing games with me. I was laughing and having a good time. A few minutes later the lady came over and said it brings such joy for her to see two sister who love each other so much. Mommy agreed and prayed that we always have such a special friendship!
I think I've officially learned the sign for more, only I've made up my own way to sign it. I open and close my hand really fast. It almost looks like I'm waving. I fuss when I get dropped off at the nursery, but only cry for a few seconds then calm down. When I see someone that I want to hold me I lean towards them and hold my arms out. I was sick, sick, sick for a few days this month. I caught this really yucky stomach bug that made me throw-up a lot. It was no fun, especially since it got passed to Katelyn, Mommy and Daddy! Other than the throw-up while I was sick, I have almost stopped spitting up! I have also stopped gaining weight, I actually lost a little. I weighed 17 pounds last Monday. Mommy says I'm becoming a skinny-minnie like my sister.
Next month will be very exciting for me, it will include an airplane, Hughes family, Jesus' birthday, HSU New Years Reunion and lots more.
Merry Christmas,
Adelyn

Birthday Party and lunch date with Daddy
I'm a little behind on this post as it happened before Thanksgiving, but oh well, better late than never! Katelyn's good friend Heidi turned 3 and had a fun party at a place called Kids Cooks Austin.
The kids started out have a little tea party while they waited for everyone to arrive. I'm pretty sure Katelyn would have stayed and played tea party the whole time...
After the tea party they headed to the back room where they made/ate fruit kabob's, made punch and of course had cupcakes. Here is birthday girl Heidi getting ready to blow out her candles.
Katelyn quite enjoyed the cupcake. Well actually she mainly just ate the frosting, can you blame her?
Adelyn is still too little to enjoy all the fun that the party had to offer, but don't worry, she had plenty of fun tugging on my hair and trying to get my earrings!
Here are all the kids post party, it looks like they are in a bit of a sugar coma!
Since we were already close to Jared's office, we decided to meet him for lunch at a burger joint. Here is Jared 'feeding' Adelyn her yummy carrot lunch.
Mommy and Katelyn-
Then Katelyn got her first pac-man experience with Daddy cheering her on!
What is Katelyn up to?
Well, I've been giving monthly updates on Adelyn and so I thought I should let you know what Miss KG is up to these days. She is so much fun! Her imagination is running wild which keeps me laughing. Today she was getting in the suburban and she said, "Mommy, we must hurry!!! A pirate is right there (pointing right beside the car) and he is trying to get me...pause... OH NO, HE GOT ME!!!! Can you please grab him and throw him on the ground so he gets a boo boo!"
She loves for Jared to make up stories to tell her, her favorite is when Jared tells her about how the pirate tries to come steal Princess Katelyn. Lately she has been making up songs to sing. It is mostly just gibberish, with Jesus, God, Noah, or other words thrown in. Here is an example-
Her favorite real song for the week is Jingle Bells which is shouts loudly over and over and over... She talks NON-STOP and is constantly asking me if she can call someone on the cell phone. I think we may be in trouble when she gets a little older! Here she is pretending to talk to PawPaw- sorry, video won't upload... will try again later.
She also enjoys telling stories herself (you may have to turn the volume up, KG is talking quietly)-
She also loves any kind of craft or project.
She can spell her name outloud, but can't yet write it all down. She is a master at finding 'K'. She will randomly find it and yell, "Mommy, I found 'K' for Katelyn." She also finds A for Adelyn, but she isn't quite as excited about it. She loves Adelyn and wants to play with her all the time. She is a little sad that Adelyn is moving around so much now, because she wants to hold Adelyn in her lap and Adelyn just wants to go-go-go! She is such a sweet girl who loves her family and friends.

Thanksgiving with Geeslin Family
This Thanksgiving we went to Brownwood to spend time with my family. Katelyn, Adelyn and I went up on Sunday and Jared joined us on Wednesday when he was able to leave work. We had a great time with Bubba, JoJo, Byron, Meggie, Auntie, Jason, and Joshua. Oh, and the dogs/cats, can't forget Sammie, Merlin, Cooper, Honey and M&M (Katelyn's best friends!).
We started the week off with a trip to the park. Katelyn had a great time driving the "school bus" and dropping everyone off at school.
Adelyn was loving the swing, which is a little strange because she will usually only sit in the swing for a few seconds in Austin.
We spent LOTS of time playing and riding on the ranger. But the kids were just as happy to sit an play on it while it was sitting still, so we did plenty of just that!Adelyn was pretty grumpy the first several days. She didn't sleep well at night and she would hardly take a nap during the day. I was glad when she finally got used to sleeping in a new place and finally started acting more like her happy self.
Katelyn and Joshua enjoyed 'playing' the piano together. I don't think we have a natural born pianist on our hands... but it wasn't too bad!
Just had to post this picture because Katelyn looks so big... Where has time gone?
After some piano playing they moved on over to the rocking chair for a little fun. I so enjoy watching Katelyn interact with her cousin, what sweet times!
Adelyn was enjoying moving around on the floor.
Another special treat at Bubba and JoJo's is all the farm equipment. This tractor was a great "VROOM" toy for her to play on. It, like the Ranger, didn't even have to move to provide lots of entertainment. Watching Katelyn play on all the farm stuff brought back special memories of when I used to play out at Mema and Pepa's place in Goldthwaite.
Our next day was filled with fun too. We went to Glen Rose to Fossil Rim Safari. We were able to drive through and see lots of animals, feed them and let the kids roam the suburban. Adelyn enjoyed not being strapped down in her carseat.
Katelyn was helping me drive. She got a little frustrated with me because she wanted to do it herself... Ummm, NO! Maybe in 13 years sister!
The highlight of the safari was feeding the giraffe. Of course, Adelyn was the only brave kid who actually touched the giraffe.
In case you can't tell, Adelyn turned completely upside-down in her carseat. She played like that for a good chunk of time!
Katelyn and Joshua looking at all the animals. Joshua's favorite part of the trip was leaving a food trail for the animals, especially when there were no animals around at the moment.
The next day we went back to the park to burn off some energy. Katelyn enjoyed the ladder, it was her favorite part this day.
Byron and Meggie arrived Wednesday and we had a blast hanging out with them. They are both so sweet with the kids. I loved watching Byron play with Katelyn, she loves him! I cherish moments that I get to spend with Byron and Megan, they are so special and we love them dearly!
Even though we live in the same town as Jason, Gera Beth and Joshua, we still don't get to spend quality time with them often. So I'm thankful for times like these when we get to spend time with them!
Here are grandparents with Adelyn and Katelyn-
Jared let Adelyn wear his new Rangers hat, how cute :)
Katelyn LOVES her new princess castle. She hasn't stopped playing with it since she got it!
One evening Jared was holding Adelyn and she turned her head to see him. They got the giggles and it was precious!
Adelyn and Katelyn got some matching PJ's with hats...
Here are some random family pictures-
This Thanksgiving was full of fun, food, laughs, and family. We had a great time and are so thankful for each of these people!
