Austin Children's Museum

On Monday morning I decided to venture out with the girls to visit the Austin Children's Museum. It was the first time for Katelyn to go to the museum and she LOVED it! It was Adelyn's first time too, but she just slept the whole time. Monday mornings it is open for kids 3 and under only which was perfect for Katelyn, no big kids to dodge! Let me go ahead and warn you, Katelyn was having such a good time she would barely look at me to get a good picture!

As soon as we arrived they were having story time. I was expecting Katelyn to be the loudest, most involved one because she is usually such a talker. However, she was completely shy and only wanted to sit in my lap. After story time was over they gave stickers and she would barely leave my side to go get one! When story time was over we headed to the 'construction' section of the museum and Katelyn really got into driving the "tracker that is just like Bubba's".

After the construction play, we met back up in the lobby for song and parachute time. Again I was expecting her to give a big performance since she knew the songs they were singing, but nope, NOTHING!!! She sat quietly on my knee and watched everyone else sing.

When they got the parachute out she got quite excited to run around under it!

After the song/parachute time we headed to the kitchen to play. I think she would have stayed here for an hour had I not pulled her away.

Next we headed upstairs to the train depot. This was the biggest surprise of the morning. She LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the train! She was laughing, squealing with joy, running here and there to watch the train- it was fun to watch her having such a good time! In one room they even had a telescope to watch the train, I think she was glued to that telescope for a good 20 minutes! After the museum we walked a few blocks to Jared's office to have lunch with him before heading home. Here is what Adelyn did all morning- SLEEP!

After lunch we went home so that Katelyn could take a nap. I happened to snap this picture last night before the girls went to bed, so I thought I'd add it to the end of this blog posting- aren't they beautiful!!!
