Backyard Camping Trip

I didn't get a picture, but I thought I'd post about Jared, Katelyn and Adelyn's backyard camping trip regardless.  Friday night they set up the tent, blew up the air mattress (because that is how we do camping), made s'mores (on the stove), and got ready for a fun night in the great outdoors.  I stayed inside with Colson (he was my excuse, really I just prefer a/c!).  The girls stayed up late enjoying the experience, and finally crashed around 10.  Jared got an unexpected surprise when the sprinklers came on around 4:15.  He said he threw his blanket over the girls as he ran to turn off the sprinkler.  They never even woke up!  Then I think they woke up pretty early to relish in the experience.  I am so grateful for Jared who will go the extra mile to create memories with his family!

Adelyn's latest

Adelyn is growing up way to fast these days.  She is full of personality and makes me laugh all the time.  She has started to really enjoy pretend play and she does EVERYTHING Katelyn does.  A few of her favorite new things:

- telling everyone to "Shhhh, Ada-girl's sleeping"

-Tell me to "close your eyes...(pause)... OPEN YOUR EYES!" then showing me something (anything within reach as a surprise...)

- Saying, "I love much Mommy" (melts my heart)

-telling me that she is a princess

-dancing around in a circle and falling down on purpose

Let's go Swimming!

Katelyn started swimming lessons last week at the YMCA.  She is in a class with 4 other kids, all of which are 5 years old.  She is only 4, but can keep up with all of them.  Actually the whole class is doing so well they moved them up to the 'big pool'.  Katelyn loves swimming and does great.  The swim teacher, Miss Annie, told me that KG is so well behaved, obedient, and doing great with her skills so far.  I'm proud!

During swim lessons I have to stay in the pool area, so Adelyn and Colson hang out with me (although I may take Adelyn to childcare next time, I figure she'd have more fun playing with friends than being confined to the bleachers).   

JoJo was in town on Thursday so she came along to see Katelyn and help me with the little kids.

Colson- 2 months old

I can't believe my little (or should I say big?) man is already 2 months old.  Each day has flown by and each day is better than the day before.  I am beyond blessed by all three of my precious kids and loving this stage of life.  Colson is keeping me busy during the day eating about every 2 1/2 to 3 hours.  His naps are very hit or miss.  If we are out running errands, driving, etc. he sleeps really well.  When we are at home he will nap for about 45 minutes then want to get up.  Sweet CJ has been giving me a good 5-6 hour stretch at night the last week or so which is so nice!  He spits up quite a bit, just like his big sisters did.  He is wearing 3, 6, and 9 month clothes.  It all depends on the brand- he is so long that most of his 3 month stuff is too short!  He weighs 13 lbs 14oz (95%) and is 24.25 inches (95%).  Oh and his head is also in the 95%, so basically he is my little linebacker :)  Colson enjoys tummy time and loves to watch Katelyn and Adelyn run around and play.  He has started to coo and smile which melts my heart each time.  He still grunts all the time, I think he is just making 'boy noises'.  Regardless, it is very hard to sleep in the same room with him because he makes noises ALL NIGHT LONG!!!  At my parents house for Easter we (Colson and I) slept upstairs while Jared slept in a bedroom downstairs with the girls on a pallet on the floor.  The first night was rough, I barely slept because he was so loud.  The second night I had Jared bring the big, industrial size fan upstairs from my dad's shop to give me some white noise- it worked!!!  I have already moved the straps on the car seat to the top position!  I'm telling you, he's one big guy! Easter 2012

We spent Easter 2012 celebrating the Resurrection of Jesus in Brownwood this year.  Colson got lots of cuddle time with JoJo.  He even gave us his first big smile over the weekend!

All the big kids loved the freedom of running, playing, swinging, and using up lots of energy in the yard at Bubba and JoJo's.  The big swing that Bubba built was a hit with adults and kids alike!

The 4-wheeler was another big hit.  The 3 big kids would take turn after turn going for a ride!

And of course a trip to Bubba and JoJo's isn't complete with out a ride on the Ranger to go feed the sheep (or cows if you ask Adelyn)!

Isabella was so laid back all weekend.  She is such a smiley little girl!

If you want a picture of Joshua you'd better snap fast, because he a boy on the move!

Adelyn learned how to peddle the tricycle this weekend.  She can't steer, but she can peddle :)

After church we tried taking some bluebonnet pictures.  I love this picture of the kids with Bubba and JoJo.  Joshua is doing his own thing, Adelyn is crying, Katelyn is trying to talk to JoJo, Isabella and Colson are just hanging out, and then Bubba and JoJo are laughing at the chaos!  Love it!

Our Trip to the Zoo

Last weekend we took a family trip to the Cameron Park Zoo in Waco.  We had a great day enjoying our time together and the weather was perfect!  Adelyn did a lot of walking that day.  She fell asleep on the way home in about 3 minutes!

Katelyn loved all the animals.  She even took her binoculars along so she could see them up close! 

Colson mainly rode in the stroller, slept, and enjoyed the ride.
