Colson- 12 months old

I can't believe today is Colson's 1st birthday.  It seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital!  This year has been full of so much joy, love and laughs.  Colson is such a sweet boy and he is growing so much everyday!  He should be growing, today for lunch he ate 1/2 a banana, 3/4 of my chick-fil-a sandwich, and a full yogurt.  My grocery bill is most surely growing with Colson's appetite   He eats whatever we eat, just cut up small.  He is drinking whole milk with each meal and then with snack after naptime as well.
As you can see in the picture above- Colson had his first black eye this past month.  He was crawling around in the living room and his sisters were playing.  Katelyn ran by and somehow her knee collided with his eye.  He was tough and only cried a minute.  And then the black eye made him look really tough :)
Colson is still a very happy, laid back guy most of the time.  Although I have noticed he isn't too happy when he is hungry.  When he wants to eat- he wants to eat!!!
Colson is great at church.  He will go into class without a whimper almost all the time.  He also does well at the YMCA.
His sisters are 2 of his favorite people.  They love him and he loves them.  If he is fussy they both will attend to his wants/needs.  It is a blessing to see them loving on each other!
We had his party this past weekend.  The cake was the highlight!
He hasn't had any food in that large of a piece before, so he started out investigating via licking...
Bubba and JoJo made homemade ice cream because no party would be complete without it!  Colson approved :)
Yummy!
I think he likes it!
Then we had presents.  I really think his favorite thing may have been the box that this car was in!
Colson is still a momma's boy.  He likes to cuddle and give hugs.  I spend a lot of time sitting on the floor so he can freely crawl up into my lap and give me hugs!  His favorite word is da-da.  He can say ma-ma, and he sort of grunts.  He likes to give kisses, but beware- you will be covered in drool.
His newest skill is standing up without pulling up on anything!  He just started doing it within the last few days.  He has also started walking while holding on the our hands.  Up until a week or so ago, he wasn't interested in walking at all.
Sweet Colson is growing up way to fast.  We are trying to cherish every moment because they pass by all too quickly.  Praying this year is just as wonderful as the last for this precious child.

Happy Birthday Colsy!

My little Sickie's

Starting Friday 2 weeks ago, it hit.  The worst stomach virus hit our family.  Adelyn was the first to go down.  We went for yogurt Friday night and she threw up on the yogurt shop floor, then continued to throw up for the next several days.  She was a trooper and made sure to keep the green throw-up bowl handy.
She finally started to feel better Monday/Tuesday... Just in time for...
Katelyn to get it :(  She was out for a few days as well.  Then Colson got it (no pictures of him).  And then Jared got it.  Luckily I was spared.   I guess the Lord knew someone needed to be healthy to clean up all the messes!
Prayerfully we won't get anything like that again!

Adelyn's 1st Swimming Lesson

Today was Adelyn's 1st swimming lesson.  She was beyond excited!  This morning she was smiling ear to ear and asked about 20 times if it was time yet.  As we dropped Katelyn off at school she told everyone who would listen that today she has swimming lessons.  When it was finally time to go she said, "Mommy, I am sooo happy!  I love my swimming lessons." When we arrived at the YMCA she continued telling me how excited she was.  I think this picture might just capture her excitement :)
Here she is getting acquainted with her teacher.  She was a little shy talking with her teacher, but she would do whatever Miss Leah asked.

There are only 4 in her group and 1 wasn't there today.  Plus another was having a little separation anxiety, so most of the time it was Adelyn and one other little girl.  I like the low student to teacher ratio!
I was proud of how independent she was.  She  is 2 (will be 3 in 6 wks) and as you can tell is a head shorter than the other 2 kids.  They are both 4, almost 5 and she was right with them on swimming skills!  She listened to her teacher and did great!
She had no fear when asked to jump in from the side.  The teacher turned to me and said, "Wow, she's brave!"
I asked her what her favorite part about swimming lessons were and she said, "Swimming!".  Well ok then :)
I told her as we were leaving that she gets to come back on Thursday for more swimming lessons and she looked at me like she just won the lottery!
