The Tooth Fairy!

Well, Katelyn lost her first tooth last week!  The tooth that she has chipped several times started to turn blue, and ended up getting infected once the tooth "died".  The dentist decided the only course of action was to "wiggle it out".  Katelyn loved that idea since he informed her that the tooth fairy would then come visit.
I was pretty nervous about it since I knew they would use a shot to numb her mouth, but Katelyn was AMAZING!  She didn't so much as budge when they were working on her!  It was quick, painless and easy!
The tooth fairy did come visit and brought her 2 quarters, new tooth paste and 2 new tooth brushes.  She was pretty excited!

Colson- 11 Months Old

Wow, 11 months old!  I can't believe it!  This past month was lots of fun, besides the ear infections.  You had 3 back-to-back ear infections, but as of now, are in the clear!  When you have an ear infection you are still pretty happy, but much more clingy.  You want to be held a lot, but you still sleep at night.  We are praying that you make it to March without another ear infection because then hopefully we won't have to do tubes!

You are a good eater.  You eat pretty much whatever is served: cooked veggies, cooked fruit, waffles, banana, avocado, yogurt, apple sauce, oatmeal, crackers, meat cut up really small.  You like to feed yourself, but will also eat off a spoon.  You are started drinking milk from a sippy cup.  You are quite the pro already!  You can hold the ones with handles all by yourself.
You enjoyed having your buddies over for New Years this month (although you had an ear infection, so you were a little cranky).
You have started to understand that your mommy is a little camera crazy at times and will oblige me with a few good grins!

This is one of your new "I'm Happy" faces.
The tongue is still very active and you love to stick it out, just like your daddy and oldest sister!
Your favorite toy is this lion, hands-down.  You love to crawl up on it, walk behind it, push it around or just push the nose and make noise.  A ball is another favorite toy.  You will roll it and chase after, over and over again!
Katelyn can still make you laugh, she loves you and likes to be in charge of you!  She watches out for you so much and I can tell you will have a special relationship with her!
You and Adelyn are becoming better friends each day.  I think when you learn to walk yall will be even better friends.  Speaking of walking- you aren't interested!  You can crawl so fast, and can walk along furniture  but you don't care to walk.
This is your other "I'm Happy" face.  You smile and tilt your head up, too cute!
You are an ok sleeper.  You go to bed at 7-7:30 and then sleep pretty soundly until 4ish.  After that you are off and on until 7:00 when you can get up.  If it were up to you, then your day would start at 6 most days.  You nap from 9-10 and then 1-2 (or 3 on a good day).  Of course your schedule isn't this strict most days since we have errands, Katelyn school, Bible study and chruch.  Luckily you are pretty good even those days when you miss a nap or are really late for a nap!

You have 8 teeth- four on top, four on bottom.

Happy 11 months sweet boy, bud (according to Katelyn), Colsy, Colson, Colsy Wolsy Underpant!

New Years 2012

Well we had our 9th Annual HSU New Years Reunion this year here in Austin.  It was smaller than usual as far as adults were concerned, but the number of kids is growing like crazy!  The Hughes, Johnsons, McAdams, and Haneys (minus their kids) were in attendance.  The first night we were able to go out with just the adults and watch the cowboys game and eat dinner (thanks to my amazing sister who came to keep an eye on the kiddos).  It was a fun evening of hanging out, catching up and having a stress free, kid-free few hours!

The next day we woke early (the Johnson's beat us out of bed for the first time.  It's amazing how kids change things!!!) and had breakfast at the house.  Then we went to a trampoline place.  We thought the adult guys would enjoy it, but turns out it was too kiddie- even for them :)

Katelyn and Adelyn LOVED having Brinley around.  They are at that age where they play so well together and play independently of the adults.
These little ladies enjoyed dancing, singing, playing, and eating together!
The male population grew quite a bit in 2012, as you can see below.  Amy bought them adorable "My first new years" shirts, so we had to do the matchy-matchy photo shoot!
Colson was fussy and running a bit of fever so I tried to keep him at a distance from his buddies. (Turned out to be another ear infection).  I can't help but look at his picture and think what it is going to be like next year with these little guys walking, running, etc.  The words wild and crazy is what I'm picturing.  Hopefully next year the 4th 2012 boy (Creyton Coil) will join us too!
And of course we had to get a picture of the dads/sons.  Now lets pictures 10 years ahead- dads vs. sons football... It's going to be fun watching our families grow up together!  I'm so thankful these precious families!
Already excited about our 10th Annual HSU New Years Reunion!  Mark your calendars folks!!!

Christmas 2012

This Christmas was full of laughs and joy!  We flew up to Washington the Friday before Christmas and stayed the whole week.  The kids were pretty good on the flights, but I sure am looking forward to not flying for a while!
Once we arrived we had lots of fun with Nanny, PawPaw, James, Stormi, Caleb, Micah and Ellie.  (Although Katelyn is still wondering why James tried to steal her locket...)

Before Christmas Adelyn would say we were going to Washington for Christmas and that it was going to snow.  I tried to tell her that snow was not guaranteed  but she had none of that.   She KNEW it was going to snow!!!  Here is the sleet we experienced one day.  I thought that might be the closest thing to snow we would see so I got a few pictures.

Then the girls found some Styrofoam popcorn used in a package and began to break it into pieces throw it up and yell, "SNOW!!!"  All I can say is that is what happens at Nanny's house!

Finally on Christmas day we had real snow!  Enough to have a snowball fight and build a mini-snowman!
We took a trip down to the river to get a few family pictures... They turned out pretty cute!

And we can't forget all the fun we had just hanging out with cousins, Nanny and PawPaw!

Flat SaSa made several appearances.  Here she is riding the gingerbread train... Silly SaSa!
