Pumpkin Patch 2012

Before we look at this years trip to the pumpkin patch, we have to look back at Katelyn and Adelyn's first trip to the pumpkin patch.  Here is Katelyn, about 6 weeks old.  As you can tell, she was less than happy about posing with the pumpkins.
Then we have Adelyn, 7 months old.  She was also not a happy camper.
And then we have the current.  Here is Colson at 8 months old.  He was happy as could be, and as you can tell, more interested in eating grass than anything else!
As you can tell from the kids gloves, hats and coats- it was cold!  We had a cold front blow in that day and burrrr!  The wind was what made it feel so cold.  Beside a few complaints about being cold at the beginning, the kids handled it really well.
A sweet lady offered to take a family picture!
Colson mainly hung with Daddy in the snugli carrier.
Katelyn and Adelyn ran, played, sang, and enjoyed the whole experience.  In the picture below they are singing walking down the middle of main street while kicking their legs.
They also got to walk through a tunnel under the road, they thought it was pretty neat!
Goats!
Barrel rides!
Since the pumpkin patch was pretty empty (Friday is a great day to go!) they guy offered to let Jared and Colson ride.  After sitting a minute Jared decided Colson didn't care, so he passed on the free ride.
Sweet!
Bouncy bubble thing!
Corn maze!
On the way home this was the view out the passenger door.  Beautiful!
And the view in the backseat- Adelyn
Katelyn!

Sneak Peak

This Halloween Katelyn has decided to be "Secret Spy Girl".  That is her own made up superhero.
Last week at school was career day.  Each child was supposed to dress like what they want to be when they grow up.  Katelyn wants to be "Secret Spy Girl" when she grows up- so... yup, she wore that to school for career day!

"Secret Spy Girl....TO THE RESCUE!!!!"

Colson- 8 months

8 months old, already!  This past month has flown by.  So much has changed for Colson the last month!  First of all, the infant carseat is no more.  He was officially too long for it, so we ordered his big-boy carseat and he is now riding in it!
Crawling!  No more army crawl, just up off the floor on all fours.  Or his newest crawl with one knee on the ground and one foot- it is sort of a 1/2 regular crawl and 1/2 bear crawl.
Sitting up all the time and all by himself.  Just last month I would have to be right there with him so he wouldn't fall over.  Not anymore!  He loves to be upright and able to follow his sisters at any given moment!
Tongue!  He almost always has his tongue working.  Not sure if it is because he is working on his 3rd tooth or if it is just a new thing for him, but he likes to stick it out all the time!
Pulling up!  He can pull up on the toy baskets, ottoman, drums, and other toys around that height.  He sometimes gets stuck and can't get down once he is up, but that doesn't stop him.  Katelyn is worried every time he pulls up that he might fall.  I have to stop her from bracing his fall every time- he's got to learn to get down somehow :)
While he rarely fusses, I did get a few pictures of him crying this month.  What a good mom- snapping pictures instead of picking him up...
Poor guy had hand, foot and mouth disease this month.  Considering how painful the sores in his mouth were, he was still a very happy little guy!
Colson is eating 1-2 meals a day and nursing 6 times a day.  He sleeps from 7-7, sometimes waking earlier but he has to stay in bed until 7.  He loves to watch, tackle, and crawl over his sisters.  They both LOVE for him to crawl over them.  They still want to hold him, but he is way to mobile for that. He is also a total cuddle bug when he first gets out of bed.  He will wrap his arms around my neck and squeeze (as he pulls my hair).  I love it, not the pulling hair, but the big squeeze!
Happy 8 months little man!  Love you so much!

HSU Homecoming 2012

This past weekend was our annual HSU Homecoming with the Johnson family!  We, of course, had a photo shoot of the boys who are only 9 days apart!  Look at precious Kress' smile!  I mean, I don't think you will find a cuter red-headed little guy!
Colson is a mover, non-stop!  Ben had the job of making sure he didn't crawl right off the couch...

Oh my, Colson's precious face!
Okay, we finally got one of them both looking happy.  Colson loved playing with all of Kress' toys and I think Kress enjoyed all the chaos that the Hughes brought to his house (at least I hope he did!)
While we were taking pics I had to get one of the roomies with their boys.  Love it!
We also got to meet the newest members of the HSU crew.  Derek and Jenny had little Rebekah 3-4 months ago and Rocky and Amy welcomed Cason on Thursday!  Not only did Amy just have a baby, she also had a house full on Saturday night.  Thanks for hosting us for an evening Amy!
Katelyn and Adelyn loved having some girly time with Brinley.  Princess dresses, toys, books, kitchen, they played it all!
Here are all the momma's with the babies!
just cause he's cute ;)
Thanks Auntie Ash and Uncle Ben for once again hosting us.  Y'all are so precious to us and we are beyond blessed by your friendship!
