Adelyn- 2 1/2 yrs old

Today is Adelyn's 2 1/2 birthday!  What a special little lady Adelyn is.  Her big brown eyes just melt my heart.  Since Katelyn has started preschool, I've been able to spend more time one-on-one with her and it has been wonderful.  She has such a sweet personality and she cracks me up all the time!  Her humor brings me joy!  A few months ago we had her tongue clipped since she was tongue-tied.  She was a trooper and did great.  The worst part was when she was coming out of surgery and she started biting her tongue.  She had never been able to bite her tongue before since it could move that much, plus it was numb, plus she was half asleep still.  Other than that, she did really well. 

We are still working on potty training.  Poor thing was ready when I was pregnant with Colson, but I was low on energy and now we are so busy going here and there that it has been tough on her potty training.  She does ok when I make her, but she isn't too self-motivated.  Oh well, I'm not worried, she'll catch on soon enough.

She is little miss independent.  I actually have to remind myself that she is only 2 quite often.  I can say we have not had the terrible 2's.  She is just really sweet and quite obedient.     

Of course her best friend, Katelyn (KiKi according to Adelyn), is there to help her follow the rules!  These 2 little girls love each other so!  I love watching and listening to them interact.  When Jared turns on the blender it makes a really loud sound.  Adelyn will actually look to Katelyn to see how she reacts.  If Katelyn covers her ears, so does Adelyn.  If Katelyn ignores it, so does Adelyn.  It cracks us up everytime!

Adelyn loves water and has no fear (which scares me!).  I am actually thinking of putting her in swimming lessons soon so that she can improve her skills and hopefully be an early swimmer since we spend so much time at the pool.   

Ada-girl loves to accessorize.  She is obsessed with shoes, jewelry, sunglasses, purses...  Girly-girl!

Her love for Colson (Colsy according to Adelyn) is growing by the day.  She likes to play with him but only for a few minutes at a time.  Which is fine by him, he is pretty independent too! 

Ahhh, this girl and her crafts, she loves crafts!  Colors, painting, stickers are all fun!

Happy 2 1/2 birthday sweet girl!  Can't wait to see what the next 6 months holds!
