Colson- 7 months old

7 months old!  It goes by too fast, you need to stop growing up so stinkin' fast little man!

Yep, this little guy loves his sisters!  They take good care of him and make sure he always has a supply of toys right in his face- literally!  He loves them both and is happiest when they are giving him attention- which they both do often.  Katelyn wants to carry him around. She doesn't understand that he weighs 20 pounds and she only weighs about 36...  Adelyn likes to bring him toys and let us know when he has spit up (which he still does often).

He was 29 inches long at his 6 month well check.  That is how tall Katelyn and Adelyn were at the 12 month well check!!!

Bath time is still a favorite this this little guy!  And since he has started eating puree's each evening, he needs a bath almost everyday!  

Colson is still very happy almost all the time.  We took him to the Children's ENT to check his eye and his ears.  He had fluid on his ears at his 4 and 6 month well check.  The ENT told us he now has an infection, so we are giving antibiotics and going back in a few weeks to re-check.  He will also have a hearing test at that point to make sure the fluid didn't cause any damage to his hearing.  The doctor confirmed the spot on his eye is a dermoid and he wasn't too concerned just yet.  He said we need to MRI it to make sure it isn't connected to anything and then have it removed, but he said we could do that whenever we feel comfortable.  The doctor was more concerned about the ear.

Colson is going through a small attachment to Mommy phase.  He is fine with someone else, until I walk in the room or walk by- then he wants me.  He still goes to childcare at church and the YMCA just fine.

Sweet boy- love that smile!

Teeth!  These aren't new this month, but I finally got a good picture of them.  He loves to chew on anythings.  Toys, shoes, whatever.  He is also a grabber.  His favorite thing to grab is hair!  He will get a good handful and NOT LET GO!!!  Katelyn and Adelyn have learned to just yell at me, "He's got my hair" and not move. If they pull away, he will hold on so tight that he'll rip it out!

Colson is still a mover.  He army crawls everywhere.  On Tuesday he crawled out of his pants, literally!  I think he is so good at the army crawl that he isn't worried about learning how to crawl up off the ground..  He eats one meal a day of purees.  He is sleeping okay, still not great.  I wonder if the ears are making his sleeping uncomfortable?  He is very independent and happy.

Quote of the Day- Adelyn

Last night we were sitting on the back porch.  Adelyn was in my lap and she kept sniffing.  I said, "Adelyn, is your nose running?"  She started giggling then said, "oh, no Mommy!  You run with 2 feet, not your nose!!!"

Adelyn- 2 1/2 yrs old

Today is Adelyn's 2 1/2 birthday!  What a special little lady Adelyn is.  Her big brown eyes just melt my heart.  Since Katelyn has started preschool, I've been able to spend more time one-on-one with her and it has been wonderful.  She has such a sweet personality and she cracks me up all the time!  Her humor brings me joy!  A few months ago we had her tongue clipped since she was tongue-tied.  She was a trooper and did great.  The worst part was when she was coming out of surgery and she started biting her tongue.  She had never been able to bite her tongue before since it could move that much, plus it was numb, plus she was half asleep still.  Other than that, she did really well. 

We are still working on potty training.  Poor thing was ready when I was pregnant with Colson, but I was low on energy and now we are so busy going here and there that it has been tough on her potty training.  She does ok when I make her, but she isn't too self-motivated.  Oh well, I'm not worried, she'll catch on soon enough.

She is little miss independent.  I actually have to remind myself that she is only 2 quite often.  I can say we have not had the terrible 2's.  She is just really sweet and quite obedient.     

Of course her best friend, Katelyn (KiKi according to Adelyn), is there to help her follow the rules!  These 2 little girls love each other so!  I love watching and listening to them interact.  When Jared turns on the blender it makes a really loud sound.  Adelyn will actually look to Katelyn to see how she reacts.  If Katelyn covers her ears, so does Adelyn.  If Katelyn ignores it, so does Adelyn.  It cracks us up everytime!

Adelyn loves water and has no fear (which scares me!).  I am actually thinking of putting her in swimming lessons soon so that she can improve her skills and hopefully be an early swimmer since we spend so much time at the pool.   

Ada-girl loves to accessorize.  She is obsessed with shoes, jewelry, sunglasses, purses...  Girly-girl!

Her love for Colson (Colsy according to Adelyn) is growing by the day.  She likes to play with him but only for a few minutes at a time.  Which is fine by him, he is pretty independent too! 

Ahhh, this girl and her crafts, she loves crafts!  Colors, painting, stickers are all fun!

Happy 2 1/2 birthday sweet girl!  Can't wait to see what the next 6 months holds!

Katelyn- 5 Years Old!!!

Seriously can't believe my baby girl is already 5 years old!  It is a blessing to be her Mommy each and every day.  Here is a super quick recap on the last 5 years:

Today is Katelyn's birthday and since it fell on a Saturday she was able to have her first full blown, invite friends kinda party. But more on that later...

 Below shows a brief show of what all Katelyn was up to last year- 

Sisters- Katelyn and Adelyn are sisters and friends!  They share a room, keep each other up late, wake each other early and love one another dearly!  Katelyn will often tell me that she will watch out for Adelyn when we are out in public places.  She takes the big sister role seriously and won't let anyone mess with Adelyn!

Baby Brother- Katelyn loves Colson!  She makes him laugh, and shows him sympathy when he cries.  If he crawls to get something he isn't supposed to, she will help redirect him (read: take said item away- in a loving way). She loves to hold him, even though he is on the move now and won't stay put for long.  

Sweetness- Katelyn is seriously just a sweetie.  I'm biased, obviously, but she just is.  She loves her family and friends, loves making them happy, and has a tender heart.

Swimming- Katelyn officially learned how to swim this summer!  She is a little fish and would go to the pool everyday if we could.  She still likes an adult close so she can grab ahold and rest, but secretly I like that because I'm quite paranoid around a pool!

Silly- Yup, she is silly!  She makes up jokes, makes silly faces, says funny things and has a great sense of humor.  She laughs at so many things and keeps me laughing!  So much of her fun-loving personality reminds me of Jared!

Follower of Jesus!- The most exciting news of the year (rather her lifetime) is that she asked Jesus into her precious little heart this year and followed by being baptized.  We are so thankful that even at a young age she is willing to hear from Jesus and follow Him!

School- She started Pre-school last week and is loving every second.  

Okay, now for the party stuff-

I suggested an art party for Katelyn since she LOVES, LOVES, LOVES crafts and art.  She thought that would be great, so today we had her party!  She invited around 10 friends and we all had a great time!  The painting was the biggest hit of the party.  The cupcake decorating was a close second.  Fun was had by all and all her friends went home with their own masterpiece and a balloon!
