So Rise and Shine

This morning Adelyn and I went in to get Katelyn out of bed. Katelyn asked if she could hold Adelyn, which she wants to do most mornings. Of course I said yes.

After holding Adelyn for about a minute she looks down and says, "Adelyn, you are my new best friend!" followed by a kiss on the top of her head.
I'm not sure who her old best friend is, but I'm so thankful that my girls love each other!

Happy 5 month Birthday!

WOW, I can't believe Adelyn is already 5 months old! She is so much fun and is such a sweet little lady. Here is the run-down on what she is up to these days:
-she is sleeping really well. She goes to bed around 7:30, eats at 10, then sleeps until 7. She wakes a time or two each night but usually can put herself back to sleep, unless she rolls over, then she wants me to put her back on her tummy. She takes a long morning, a short nap around noon and then another long afternoon nap.
-she rarely fusses and is easily entertained.
-one of her favorite people is Katelyn.
-she can roll from tummy to back and back to tummy, although she only does it a time or two a day during playtime. Her favorite time to roll is right when I put her down for her nap. Our nap time routine- I lay her down on her tummy and leave the room. Give her about 3 minutes (she rolls over), go back in put her back on her tummy and then she is out.
-she chews on her fingers or any toy all the time (but I don't see any teeth getting ready to come yet).

-she loves bath time.
-she spits up all the time! I have to wash burp clothes several times a week because she goes through about 8-10/day!
-she gives lots of smiles and giggles each day
-she has really started to enjoy the jumper.
-each Sunday we hear what a good baby she is from the nursery workers! She is just a happy, content baby!
-her Daddy is head-over-heels for her!
We love you sweet Adelyn!

A few days in Brownwood

Katelyn, Adelyn and I went to Brownwood on Monday to spend a few days with my parents. We always have a great time visiting with family and this was no exception. The weather was really hot, but it wasn't too bad sitting on the back porch in the shade watching Katelyn play. This is one of Adelyn's favorite things to do!

Adelyn was quite smitten with Bubba this week. She would just stare at him and smile. Several times she got the giggles while he was playing with her. There is something about Adelyn laughing with my dad that just melts my heart!

Katelyn loves all the animals at my parents house. I think "Honey" (the cat in the picture) is her favorite. She carries that poor cat around and it lets her...

The grass in the yard is nice and green so I decided to have a photo session. Didn't turn out too well because Katelyn was worried about sitting on the grass, but I got at least one decent picture!

Here is JoJo with Katelyn and Adelyn. Notice the burp cloth under Adelyn's chin... We pretty much have to have a burp cloth within arms reach all the time. Poor thing spits up ALL THE TIME!!!

I think it is safe to say Katelyn has JoJo (and the rest of us) wrapped around her little finger. Katelyn loves JoJo so much that I couldn't even turn out the light when she went to bed each night. She would say, "Can JoJo come turn out the light..." How can you say no? JoJo had a hard time saying no to Katelyn while we were at the store too, hence the hat and dog. Katelyn named the dog Carlos and she (yes Carlos is a girl) hasn't left Katelyn's side!

Katelyn and Adelyn are growing and changing everyday. Adelyn is becoming so much more interactive and fun. We finally put the infant swing in the attic (which she never liked anyway) and took the jumper down. I knew if she was anything like Katelyn, she would LOVE the jumper... and she does love it! She hasn't figured out how to jump in it, but she loves to be upright and play with the toys.
Katelyn is such a girly little girl. She loves purses, jewelry, sunglasses, etc. The more purses she can be carrying at once, the better!
